How to Cleanse Your Colon With Food

Most people new to the idea of colon cleansing for good health, are
turned off by the idea of doing an enema or colon irrigation. So they
look for alternative methods to cleaning their colon, and one of the
most natural colon cleansing methods they discover is food.

Food is one of the best techniques to use for cleansing your colon.
Now, there are several approaches to using food for colon cleansing,
so we'll look at a couple of those here.

First: The lack of food can help cleanse your colon. Technically this
is called a fast, or a body detox technique. Using this colon
cleansing method, you simply go on a juice only diet for about one
week. Juice fasts can last for two to three weeks if you'd like
though, and many people use them for both detoxing their body and
losing unwanted body weight.

Juice fasts can be done using either fruit or vegetable juices, but if
you're diabetic you may want to water down your fruit juices because
they do contain high amounts of natural sugar.

Not everyone can handle going without solid food for a week or more
though, so that brings us to our primary colon cleansing method:

Food. Yes, real, solid food that will fill your stomach.

The best types of foods to eat which will help your colon cleanse
itself gently and naturally, are high in fiber.

Whole grain and bran cereals for instance, are an excellent way to get
extra fiber into your diet and help cleanse your colon. You may want
to try adding flaxseed to your breakfast for even better results.

Anything green and leafy is another excellent source for helping to
cleanse the colon. Try eating plenty of vegetables such as spinach,
broccoli, and various salad greens.

One of the best foods for helping you cleanse your colon though, is
fruit. Blackberries for instance, have a whopping eight grams of fiber
per cup, and all that extra fiber does a wonderful job of cleansing
your colon. Prunes and prune juice are also excellent foods to use for
cleansing your colon, and just about any other type of fruit or fruit
juice which usually makes you have a good bowel movement will work as
well.

The whole point of cleansing your colon naturally using food, is to
increase your body's waste elimination process for several days at the
minimum. You want to force your body to start flushing out the solid
waste materials, so that it's also carrying the toxins and bacteria
out of your body more quickly too.

Colon Cleansing With Herbs

When you're not getting enough fiber in your diet, then your colon is
probably suffering from being clogged with hard and dried solid waste
products which aren't able to move out of your system quickly enough.
When these waste products back up in your colon, you are at much
higher risks of having health problems, because the toxins and
bacteria which are in that waste are supposed to be moved out of your
body through your bowel movements... and they're just sitting there
leaking back into your body instead.

This is why colon cleansing is so important to your overall health and
wellness. By making sure the colon is clean and clear of old waste
deposits, your body is not being poisoned by the bacteria and toxins
which is carried within that waste.

The best natural and gentle way to clean your colon is to change the
foods you eat. Eating plenty of extra fiber from fruits, vegetables,
and whole grains will help you have more regular and frequent bowel
movements, and this in turn will clear the old wastes from your colon.

If you're not able to eat enough extra fiber in your diet though,
there are some herbal supplements which work quite well to help
cleanse your colon too. The best single herbal supplements to use for
cleansing your colon will also help cleanse your liver at the same
time. And this is extremely useful to your body, because it will allow
the liver to function more effectively at removing toxins and bacteria
from your body.

Slippery Elm is an excellent single herbal source to use for helping
cleanse your colon. This herb will normalize the stools in your colon,
so if you have a backlog of dried waste that is not moving well, this
herb will help soften it. If you have diarhhea however, this herb will
also help make that more solid too.

Dandelion is another excellent herb to use for cleansing your colon
naturally, and it's also wonderful for cleansing the liver at the same
time.

There are also various herbal laxatives you may want to try, to help
cleanse the colon more quickly without harmful side effects. You'll
find some specific herbal laxative suggestions at the link below.

One other thing you may want to use for herbal colon cleansing, is a
supplement mixture. These mixtures are special formulas which combine
multiple herbal sources to give you the best all around natural and
gentle approach to colon cleansing. You'll find more information and
recommendations for that at amoh.org.

Treat Yourself to a Colon Cleanse to Improve Your Well-being

Do you feel as good as you want to feel? Or perhaps would you like to feel a little better? I think almost everyone would agree that it's possible to improve their well-being. Some can certainly benefit more than others. You may not realize it, but many of your bodily systems are affected by the health of your colon. So if you're really looking to improve your well-being, you need to treat yourself to a colon cleanse.

Most of the disease and deterioration that we experience in our bodies is linked to the toxins that we are exposed to every day. Some of these toxins we have no control over, but some of them we willingly put into our own bodies. Most Western cultures eat very poorly. We crave taste and we are attracted to clever packaging. We end up eating high sugar, high fat and low fiber foods, which is a diet completely opposed to what our bodies were designed for. It's only natural that such an unnatural diet would eventually take its toll.

Our bodies actually have a wonderful capacity for self repair. In normal situations, bodily systems can work together to remove most toxins. Many of our human organs are actually designed specifically for the purpose of transporting poisonous waste materials out of our body. But unhealthy habits overload the system to the point where wastes begin to accumulate and damage eventually results. Even those who've chosen to follow a healthy lifestyle can't avoid some of the environmental sources of toxins and disease.

A colon cleanse is an excellent way to help our body systems cope with the overload. Not only is your colon one of the most critical areas of your body's waste management system, it also happens to be the best starting point any time you wish to remove toxins from your body.

The function of the colon is to remove liquid and minerals from waste matter and then to eliminate what's left from the body. However, when you don't drink enough water or eat enough fiber, then the colon can't do its job effectively. The whole process begins to slow down and become inefficient. Waste matter begins to accumulate in the nooks and crannies of your large intestine. Unhealthy bacteria begins to grow. The colon begins to become obstructed, which makes the problem even worse.

An effective colon cleanse, along with an improvement in your diet and lifestyle, can have a dramatic effect on your well-being. It helps your body remove the accumulated waste and stops the reabsorption of toxins that are making you feel so bad. When fecal matter accumulates in your colon, toxins that should normally be eliminated in a bowel movement remain inside your body and are reabsorbed into your bloodstream. This is certainly not how your body was intended to work, so your overall well-being is severely affected.

Severe fatigue and a feeling of lethargy often indicate the need for a colon cleanse. But a whole host of other symptoms could result as well, from hemorrhoids to bad breath. Which means your body's well-being is affected from one end to the
other.

A colon cleanse may be something that you've never done before, and everyone is naturally suspicious of new things. This is probably especially true when it comes to colon health. However, just exactly how bad are you willing to feel before you try a colon cleanse?

You'll experience the benefits of a colon cleanse throughout your entire body. When you restore your colon to natural functioning and good health, you remove a great deal of stress from your other bodily systems. Even parts of your body that you didn't realize were affected will improve.

There are several different varieties of colon cleansing products available on the market today. Many of these are safe, effective and easy to use. If you just feel "down" overall and you haven't been able to put your finger on a specific ailment, what would it hurt to try a colon cleanse? If you don't feel an improvement, then at least you will know that your colon is functioning healthfully and is not a fault. But you may find out that a colon cleanse was exactly what you needed.
